Aura of Trees

I know I need to be surrounded by trees. That's a given. I've felt that need since I was a child and always believed I would one day end up in a small mountain cabin by a stream. That dream still lives with me and I work toward achieving it.

I remember for my 13th birthday, my parents gave me a very nice Olympus 35mm camera. I loved that camera. I took pictures like crazy, all of landscapes and trees. :) It drove my Mom nuts. She said pictures should always have someone in them.

Well, I took photo class in high school and I was still drawn to take pictures of trees and landscapes. I couldn't be bothered with pictures of people. Still can't... I do take many pictures of friends and family, but I love the pictures of the sequoia trees, pine trees, oaks, etc. most of all, (as seen by the photos attached.)

While out visiting the Grand Canyon one year, my husband, who is a Native American, and I were enjoying the view of the canyon. We drove or hiked from one lookout area to the next. There was one point when we were walking back from the rim with a grove of pine trees on our right when we both stopped.

We had noticed the aura of the trees. They were like heat waves surrounding each tree. We stood in awe and grinned at each other like two kids. We looked around to be sure we were not seeing the heat of the day, and we confirmed, we were not. As we looked back, we could clearly see each tree had its' own aura. It was one of the most beautiful moments.

The Native Americans knew it, now we need to embrace it. The trees are amazing, spiritual beings with many things to teach us. Embrace a tree, and feel it for yourself.

For more information on trees, I picked up this great book: The Meaning of Trees

Blessings in Light,

Karen
